Nokia Point & Find enables people on the move to access relevant information and services on the internet,
simply by pointing their mobile phone camera at real life objects. The service combines the first mobile
augmented reality browser on S60 devices with a web-based content management tool that allows anyone to
create and publish augmented reality experiences.
- In the city – Tag real-life objects around you, such as restaurants and stores. Provide more information about the item or send the user to a web link. All users will be able to pick up the information and instructions you give when they point their camera phone at your tagged objects. City tagging available on select devices worldwide.
- 2D barcode scanning – Scan and decode any 2D barcode. 2D barcodes contain information, such as vCard contact information or they can also instruct your phone to a website, send a SMS, or make a phone call. 2D barcode scanning function available on select devices worldwide.
- For comparison shopping – At the store, scan select barcodes to automatically see prices at other stores. You can also save products to a wishlist for future reference. Comparison shopping function available on select devices in the U.S., U.K., and Germany.
- For movies – Point your camera phone at a movie poster to watch a trailer for the movie, see showtimes, get directions to the closest cinema, and purchase tickets to the showing. Movies function available on select devices in the U.S. and U.K.

Today we release a new version of Nokia Point & Find, which supports three more devices -the Nokia N97 mini, Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. On those devices, you need to ensure that you run the latest device software before installing the client. Otherwise, you may get the following error message: "Certificate error, Contact application / service provider". This is a known issue, and we appreciate your patience as we are looking into it.
We've also made it possible on the N97 mini, 5530 XpressMusic, and 5800 XpressMusic to install Point & Find on mass memory instead of phone memory. However, with other devices, you need to install P&F on your phone memory. Otherwise, the service won't work.
In addition, we did some 'under-the-hood' bug fixing and optimization, including on battery consumption and on the real-time recognition algorithm. -
